Dr. Brian Karshen graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 1996. He went on to complete his Certificate in Periodontology from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 1999. During this training, he was educated in both surgical and non-surgical techniques for treating periodontal disease and placing dental implants.

Dr. Karshen follows a rigorous course of continuing education every year to stay up to date on the most current treatments available to help his patients make the best decision they can about their oral health. He is a member of the the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Illinois State Dental Society, and Chicago Dental Society where he served as Program Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, and most recently President. He is a specialist member of the Elevated Dentistry Study Club. The study club is a collaboration of like-minded dentists and specialists looking to enhance their skills as practitioners through continuing education and colleage based feedback.

In his free time, Dr. Karshen, his wife Kim and their two boys Jackson and Tyler, love to attend professional baseball games together. He also enjoys watching his sons participate in sports and band and taking an active role in his community.
